What are Fillers?
Facial fillers are a gel-like substance made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar molecule found in your skin. When hyaluronic acid is mixed with collagen, it keeps the skin plump, hydrated and youthful. Also known as dermal fillers, they help lift, shape and refine features of the face and other areas of the body, minimizing the signs of aging. Facial fillers enhance the cheeks, midface, hide frown lines or downturned corners of the mouth, can treat tear troughs, back of hands and enhance lips and contour jawlines.
As we age, our bodies produce less collagen and hyaluronic acid. This causes our skin strength, elasticity and fat volume to decrease, changing the shape and appearance of the face, which leads to sagging skin, folds, lines or wrinkles. Fillers add structure, volume and support to redefine your features bringing back a more youthful appearance.

Are facial fillers safe?
Facial fillers are generally safe when administered by experienced and trained aesthetic providers, like our master injectors at Arsenault Aesthetics. Additionally, we use FDA-approved fillers to ensure the highest quality and safety standards.
Do fillers hurt?
Fillers may cause some mild discomfort, but at Arsenault Aesthetics, we offer multiple options for numbing the lips to minimize pain during the procedure. We consider our technique “painless lip filler.” Most patients find the treatment very tolerable.
Do fillers dissolve?
Do lip fillers last longer the second time?
It depends. Since filler treatments can stimulate collagen production, the increase in lip volume may be noticeable for longer. The hyaluronic acid filler usually lasts the same length of time year after year.

How Fillers Work
Fillers are gel-like substances that are injected into the skin to restore volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance facial contours. As we age, our skin loses collagen and elasticity, which can lead to a loss of volume and the formation of lines and wrinkles. Fillers counteract these signs of aging by adding volume to the targeted areas, such as the lips, cheeks, jawline, around the mouth and under eyes.
At Arsenault Aesthetics, our experienced Master Injectors carefully select the most suitable type of filler for your specific needs, ensuring natural-looking and long-lasting results. Fillers not only address age-related concerns but can also be used to enhance facial features, such as creating fuller lips or more defined cheekbones and jawlines. This highly technical full face contouring is commonly referred to as facial balancing.

What to Expect
Your filler appointment at Arsenault Aesthetics will begin with a thorough consultation, during which our experienced professionals will discuss your aesthetic goals and assess your facial features.
Once the treatment plan is customized to your needs, a topical numbing cream will be applied to the targeted area to minimize any discomfort during the procedure. Our skilled Master Injectors will then carefully administer the filler using a fine needle or cannula, paying close attention to detail and symmetry for optimal results.
After the treatment, you may experience some mild swelling, redness, or bruising, which is normal, to be expected, and will resolve over the next 5-7 days.. You’ll be provided with post-treatment care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery and optimal results. Most patients can resume their normal activities shortly after the procedure, but it is recommended to avoid strenuous exercise for the first 24 to 48 hours.
