VBeam PDL Laser FAQ

A pulsed dye laser (PDL) is a specialized laser technology that targets specific pigments in the skin. VBeam PDL Laser, used at Arsenault Aesthetics, emits pulses of light to safely treat various skin conditions like redness, rosacea, spider veins, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), warts, acne and acne scars.
The VBeam laser is the gold standard for treatment anything that is vascular or red.  It is great for treating generalized redness, enlarged vessels (telangiectasias), rosacea, hemangiomas, vascular lakes, poikiloderma, and port wine stains.
3-5 treatments, spaced 2-4 weeks apart are typically needed for resolution of redness, rosacea or blood vessels.
Yes, VBeam is a safe and effective treatment when performed by our experienced aesthetic providers at Arsenault Aesthetics. The procedure is FDA-approved and has been widely used for various skin conditions with minimal side effects.
VBeam PDL Laser works by emitting targeted bursts of light energy, which get absorbed by the blood vessels or pigmented areas in the skin. The heat generated from this process destroys the targeted tissue, promoting the healing process and improving the skin's appearance.
You can expect to see noticeable results within two to four weeks after a VBeam treatment. The exact time frame depends on the individual and the specific skin condition being treated.
Since the VBeam PDL laser is shrinking blood vessels, not killing them, over time they can return. The re-dilation and appearance of these vessels can range from months to years, depending on the person.
Some improvement may be visible immediately after a VBeam treatment, but the full results typically develop over several weeks as the body's natural healing process takes place.
VBeam results can be long-lasting, but maintenance treatments may be necessary to sustain optimal results, especially for conditions like rosacea, which tend to be chronic.
Typical downtime is 1-2 days of redness and 2 – 7 days of swelling. Occasionally there may also be bruising which can last up to 1 week. The downtime depends on the person and the intensity of the laser treatment.
This laser treatment is very tolerable. Patients report only mild discomfort.
It's best to avoid vigorous exercise for 24 hours after a VBeam treatment. This allows your skin to heal properly and minimizes the risk of any side effects.
Yes, VBeam is effective in reducing facial flushing by targeting and diminishing the blood vessels responsible for the redness.
Yes, the VBeam PDL Laser is known to stimulate collagen production in the skin, leading to improved skin texture, firmness, and overall appearance.
While VBeam is not specifically designed for skin tightening, the increase in collagen production after treatment can result in a subtle tightening effect.
VBeam should not affect hair growth in area treated. VBeam may temporarily remove hair in the area treated but there is no long term hair removal by the VBeam.  It can vaporize the hair but not get deep enough to affect the hair follicle.
VBeam is more effective than the IPL or BBL for redness and arguably safer than IPL or BBL.
Yes! This treatment benefits both men and women.

How VBeam PDL Laser Works

VBeam PDL Laser is a state-of-the-art technology that uses precise pulses of light energy to target and treat various skin conditions. The laser’s wavelength is specifically designed to be absorbed by the pigmented or vascular lesions in the skin, while leaving the surrounding healthy tissue unharmed. This targeted approach allows for effective treatment of conditions such as rosacea, facial redness, spider veins, and acne scars.

With the expert care of our aesthetic providers at Arsenault Aesthetics in Lakewood Ranch, you can achieve a clearer, more radiant complexion using VBeam PDL Laser technology.

What to Expect

Upon arriving at Arsenault Aesthetics, your provider will discuss your specific skin concerns and goals to determine if VBeam treatment is right for you. A thorough skin evaluation will be conducted, and a customized treatment plan will be developed to address your unique needs.

During the VBeam treatment, your skin care specialist will clean the treatment area and put eye protection on you. Next, you may feel a snapping sensation as the laser pulses are delivered. The procedure is generally well-tolerated, quick, and any discomfort is usually minimal.

After the treatment, you may experience temporary redness, swelling, or bruising, which typically subsides within a few hours to a few days. It’s important to follow your provider’s aftercare instructions, which may include avoiding sun exposure and using sun protection. Most clients can return to their normal activities shortly after treatment, with optimal results developing over the next few weeks.

VBeam PDL Laser Treatment Applications

VBeam PDL Laser can be used to address a wide variety of skin conditions and concerns, providing remarkable improvements in the appearance and health of your skin.

VBeam PDL Laser is highly effective in reducing the visible signs of rosacea and redness by targeting the blood vessels responsible for these conditions. The laser helps minimize redness and inflammation, restoring a more even and balanced skin tone.
By targeting the pigmented areas called post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and stimulating collagen production, VBeam PDL Laser can significantly improve the appearance of acne scars, promoting healthier, even-toned skin.
VBeam PDL Laser effectively treats spider veins by targeting the blood vessels responsible for these unsightly blemishes. The laser energy causes the veins to collapse and be naturally absorbed by the body, resulting in clearer, more even-toned skin.
VBeam PDL Laser is a proven treatment option for port wine stains, a type of birthmark characterized by red or purple discoloration. The laser targets the blood vessels within the stain, causing them to fade and become less noticeable over time.
Hemangiomas, or benign vascular tumors, can be safely and effectively treated with VBeam PDL Laser. The laser energy targets the blood vessels in the tumor, reducing its size and appearance.
This skin condition, characterized by redness, pigmentation, and visible blood vessels, typically affects the neck and chest. This can give the neck or chest the appearance of permanent tan lines and uneven skin coloration. VBeam PDL Laser effectively targets the affected areas, minimizing redness and promoting a more even skin tone.
VBeam PDL Laser can reduce the appearance of sunspots and age spots by targeting the pigmented areas in the skin. The laser energy breaks down the pigment, which is then naturally absorbed by the body, resulting in a more youthful and even complexion. Depending on the type of sunspot or age spot, we may alternatively recommend a BBL treatment.
VBeam PDL Laser is an excellent option for treating facial veins, including telangiectasia, by targeting and collapsing the affected blood vessels. This leads to clearer, more even-toned skin.
The VBeam PDL Laser can effectively treat warts by targeting the blood vessels that supply them with nutrients, ultimately causing the warts to shrink and disappear.
VBeam PDL Laser helps to improve the appearance of the redness within scars and stretch marks by targeting the pigmentation within the affected area and reducing the vascular appearance.
VBeam PDL Laser can provide overall skin rejuvenation by stimulating collagen production and targeting pigmented areas. This results in firmer, smoother skin with a more even tone and youthful appearance.

I saw Melissa for v beam treatment on broken capillaries on my cheeks and she did an absolute incredible job. She was very thorough and made sure I knew I was going to be taken care off because I previously had a really bad experience with laser for my capillaries. It completely vanished once it healed up, I still can’t believe it!!
Felt right at home with Nina Vital and Brea! 5 days after my Moxi/BBL treatment, almost ALL of my freckles and sunspots are gone! My skin is amazingly smooth too! Going in for a second visit to lighten/remove any remaining spots. I am absolutely impressed and feel like my face looks 'too good to be true'! Thank you ladies for your expert advise and recommendations.
I saw Melissa Beachy for jaw fillers and VBeam Laser treatments for rosacea. I was slightly apprehensive, since you never know how the treatments work until you have them done, and by then it could be too late. I have to say that the work done exceeded my expectations. Melissa is a perfectionist, a skilled professional and very personable. The spa is clean, modern looking, and well managed. I highly recommend it. Thank you Melissa!
I received vbeam to help with my rosacea on my face. The entire team at glow dermspa were informative and extremely nice. I would recommend to everyone with dermatology or spa needs! Melissa is the best and only suggests what you need to look natural.
